Roland is a retired soldier of the Crimson Lance, a military that was formed when Pandora started going downhill that totally disregards the law, is the soldier class for Borderlands. Roland's Active Ability is to throw out a turret, called the Scorpio Turret, that will automatically shoot enemies. Roland is most suitable with high power Assault Rifles and Shotguns, dealing fast and powerful weapon damage. While suiting the role of Support in healing and reviving within groups, he is also able to dish out the highest weapon damage out of the four classes.
Roland is best used for the 'all guns blazing' mentality and close combat, due to his fondness of assault rifles and shotguns.
 Skill Tree
Rolands skill tree has three branches, Infantry, Support, and Medic. The infantry branch focuses on greatly increasing efficiency with all weapons, especially shotguns and combat rifles. The skills in this branch will extend combat rifle clips to enormous lengths, making his effectiveness with combat rifles especially useful when combined with specific class mods that also increase magazine size.
The Support branch is a bit less specific than the others, tho it contains most of the available skills tor upgrading the scorpio turret. This tree helps Roland play more defensively.
The Medic branch turns Rold into one of the best team players in the game. He can actively heal his teammates simply by shooting them, regenerate his health, and his teammates health with his scorpio turret, and actively increase health regeneration of his team during combat. This branch makes Roland the only real support/healing character in the game.

|Shooting an enemy decreases the cooldown of your scorpio turret by 1/2/3/4/5 seconds.||Increases magazine size and reduces recoil of combat rifles by 9/18/27/36/45%.||Killing an enemy increases grenade damage by 3/6/9/12/15%, and regenerates 2/3/5/6/8 grenades per minute.||Reduces cooldown of your scorpio turret by 20/40/60/80/100%.||Deploying your scorpio turret has a 14/28//42/56/70% chance to instantly revive nearby teammates.||Increases bullet resistance by 3/6/9/12/15%.|
