Name Gaige
Class Mechromancer
Active Ability Summon Deathtrap
Skill Trees Best Friends Forever, Little Big Trouble, Ordered Chaos

Gaige is the first of Borderlands 2's DLC playable characters.

Gaige is the summoner class of Borderlands 2, as Mordecai was to Borderlands. Her summon, Deathtrap, was originally made by her for a science fair project. Her competitor rigged the science fair and eventually shoved Gaige after winning. Gaige's Deathtrap attacked the competitor and killed her, causing Gaige's arrest and eventual bounty upon her escape from prison. She fled to Pandora soon after.

Deathtrap is her Active Ability. Once deployed, it attacks all enemies within your sight range if combat is initiated. If you're put into Fight For Your Life while Deathtrap is active, Deathtrap will not be deactivated. If you get a Second Wind due to a kill from Deathtrap, your Second Wind message will also display 'Thanks Deathtrap' below the message. If you die during the Fight For Your Life, Deathtrap will still keep fighting until his timer completely runs dry. You cannot reclaim Deathtrap as you can Axton's Sabre TurretActive Ability.
